Curtin Ultimate League 2010 has finally ended~ Its a league where four teams from our very own campus come together on weekends to compete a game we call Ultimate! :) :)

In the midst of our assignments and projects, the 15 of us took our turns in turning up for the league matches.

At the end of the day, our team managed to grasp the championship.. ^^

But of course, thanks to my capable teammates~ Hehe! ^-^

I had fun playing Ultimate frisbee~ :) :) Why am I slow to learn this game?

I am leaving so soon... :(

Heard all about the rave and craze about the KFCK burger since early this semester but had never really gone to search for this PPL-CRAZED-FOR-BURGER..

However, together with dear we went for a treasure hunt today... ! It was exciting as we never really drove in Piasau residence before.. :) :)

Printed the map to KFCK and instantly we hopped on the car and drove to Piasau!

We were driving and searching but to no avail !! In the end, we saw this little sign of HOPE!

KFCK! Haha! So excited~ :) :)

Valentine's Day is drawing near~ It falls on the same day as the Lunar New Year! The Chinese New Year!~ :) :)

Heard about this movie and wassssssssssss excited in anticipation for its premiere release!! :) :)
Its gonna be a hit as there is sooooooooooo many famous and renown actors and actresses featuring in this film~ :) :) C'mon.. Havin Julia Roberts, Queen Latifah, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba and Jennifer Garner in a combo film! Oh myyy~ Plus you have Ashton Kutcherrrrrrrrr! Oh myyyyy *drools*

Oh wait... I think I forgotten to mention and also Taylor Swift!!!!? :) :)

Car ride

Was given car rides by two of my youngest cousins who are all grown up now! And pretty soon they will be leaving to Melby soon where all my other cousins are.. Almost half of them are over there! :( :( Mannnnn.. Miss you all so much! So far away.... *sobs*

Chinese New Year celebration is drawing nearrr.. I hear sounds of melody from the gongs and cymbals airing in the shopping complexes.. smell of 'bak gua' floating in the air... lotsa colourful candies displayed along walkways for sell... and also loadsssssss of people trying out new clothes in whichever fitting rooms you can find!~

Why I still do not feel the mood nehx? Hmmm... Maybe partly because our family will not be celebrating Chinese New Year... Weird to have Chinese New Year without you around...

Especially when it was always the Lion Dance

at your home that kept me all excited every year on the eve of Chinese New Year... :(

Today I got to meet a cousin whose very dear to my heart whom I have not met for like more than 5 years! My memory is not serving me well, I cannot remember the last time she left Malaysia at all! But neways, it was really good to meet her again and to have our chats and laughters! :) :) Can't wait for more activities we gonna share together! yays! :)

I'm having a dehydration day today albeit drinking gallons of water! Lips cracking with all the ulcers and sorts! Oh gawdddd.. Its so painfulllll~ I am drinkinggggggg yes I ammmmmmmm! Feel like an elephant already! :(

Few days ago, visited Four Points Hotel by Sheraton nearby airport road.. It was my first visit there.. Heard a lot about it from the Kuchingnites but never stepped into the building yet. The place looks pretty empty to me~ Had a brief walk around the hotel..No I did not get to see the bedrooms.. So probably not an in-depth visit to judge.. Fortunately, I was there for a buffet lunch! Mum's treat~ :) :) Thanks Mum! ^^

The food selection was pretty awesome~ I absolutely adored the Italian Cuisine section! With selections from Shepherd's Pie to Beef Sausages Pizza to personalized pastas like bolognese, marinara, carbonara.. anything you name it! :) Then we have the western roasts, chinese kitchen which has a wide selection finger food like spring rolls, fried wantan, and the 3 types of 'pau' also personalized noodles or vermicelli with different type of choices like instead of egg noodle, you can have spinach noodle or rice noodles... They also offer sushi, appetizers of all sorts..you pick! :) *sorry no pics* XD

But what caught my eye wasssssssss... Dessertssssss! =P~

I think I have not much to complain about everything except a fact that the restaurant's chilled water taste worst than the 'sky juice' you can get in a coffee shop or my Miri kitchen's unfiltered-boiled water.. It tasted like it came from the swimming pool located just beside the restaurant! :( :( high concentration of chlorineeeee!

Oh well, maybe they purposely did it so you can 'kill' all the bacterias you just filled in your tummy! =___=" (in case they have hygiene problems =X)

Today was Spring Cleaning dayyy~ Time to clear off the dusts and specks! shoo~ shoo!~ Dead tired but all is worth it! Clean and refreshing! :) :) Alright, let's talk about something today...

This would look familiar to gym fanatics or blog readers of Kenny Sia ... You are right it is the locker in the ladies w.c at Level Up Fitness, Kuching. It was my first visit to the new gym for the tryout session. Was at the earlier days of my longgggggg summer holiday... Got nothing better to do, so headed out to try out this famous gym that bloggers and Kuchingnites are gossiping about!

Its my lucky number 42 locker *pssstt.. so chinese mindset!* but to the chinese 42 is a bad number! It is a deathnoteeeeeee! XD ' si ji ' oh well.. superstitious crap! =___=

Ohhh! And I did not went there by myself~ I brought my trusty gym buddy with me! =D Audreyyyyy! ^^

After working out, its time to camwhore! We don't need to put on makeup or blushers ady! After effects of working out is wayyyy better~ Blood circulation on its maximum rate! Gushing to our cheeks~ Look at those pink cheeks! *weeeeetz* XD

You gotta give props to Level Up Fitness gym for its maintenance of its cleanliness of its w.c~ And friendly staffs.. Other than that, its just like any other gym but its new! Which indirectly means, new machines, new classes, new people, new gym-fanatics-wannabe and a gym which will still be on its improving and developing stage! :) :)

January is quickly coming to its end in this new year of 2010~! How time flies~ My long holiday is soon coming to an end too.. Back to campus life in no time!

Been wanting to blog ever since the holiday started but due my dislike of my previous blog layout, I hesitated! It became an eye sore after a year or was it two years blogging on the same layout! Decided to have a change..

But some were.. tummulatoussss ( i dont know how to spell it), ecclesiasti ya da ya da ya da.... saccrotesanctttya da ya da ya da! I cannot remember the words if you asked me now.. Influenza A Virus Subtype H1N1

M’sia confirms first A(H1N1) case

Malaysia has reported its first influenza A(H1N1) case involving a student who returned from the United States two days ago.

According to Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai yesterday,

“The student returned to Malaysia on May 13 and the next day, he sought treatment when he felt unwell. The test confirmed that he has the H1N1 virus.”

Further on, the news stated that following confirmation of the first influenza A(H1N1) case, all passengers on

Malaysia Airlines flight MH091 from Newark, United States

which arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Wednesday are advised to contact the Health Ministry.

Personally and according to reliable sources, I heard most of them did not turn up yet. C'mon guys!

Alright, so Malaysia’s first case involved a 21-year-old male student who returned from the United States two days ago which is May the 13th 2009 and started having

fever, sore throat and body aches

yesterday, and was admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital at 6.45pm the same day.

It was that serious that he had to be admitted into the hospital on the same day! :(

Let's pray that he survives and the doctors can give him the best treatment available in the hospital! :(

There is so far little data available on the risk of airborne transmission of this particular virus. Mexican authorities are distributing surgical masks to the general public. The UK Health Protection Agency considers facial masks unnecessary for the general public.

Many authorities recommend the use of respirators by health-care workers in the vicinity of pandemic flu patients, in particular during aerosol generating procedures (e.g. intubation, chest physiotherapy, bronchoscopy).

Pork Products

Although some pigs in Canada were recently found to be infected with the new strain of H1N1,the leading international health agencies have stressed that the "influenza viruses are not known to be transmissible to people through eating processed pork or other food products derived from pigs."

Have not been into any presentation these past semester.. But just today we had one..

Let me tell you the first thing I got to know when I got into the class..

Friend 1: Hey.. Our group presentation has been postponed to next week.

Me: You serious? If he postpone our presentation today.. I will kill him!

Friend 2: Hey I heard its true. They said today's time could only be allocated for two groups.

Me: *serious grin*

Me: Teammate.. Our presentation has been postponed again!

Teammate 1: If that is so, I definitely will hate him for this.

You see.. Our group presentation has been postponed three times already! And if this is gonna happen again. It would be the fourth. And I do not like the sound of it.

Lucky things turned out fine. We got to present and same with other 3 groups.

If not, things would turn ugly. We'll definitely complain this to the higher authority.

And Dr.K, you'll definitely face trouble.

You wouldnt want that on your first semester here would you? zzzzzzzzzzz

Actually the title does not relate to what I have to say or blog about now..

It was raining early this morning..

The brightness of the lightning's bolt and the delayed-follower, the thunder roared so loudly from the skies above... Woke up me from my sleep!

Knowing that she is very afraid of when its comes to thunder.. I looked out the window to check on her.. She was wandering around.. walking up and down.. I wonder what she was doing...

I was too sleepy to wait and see what she was up to....

Checked on the clock.. It was 6.30 am only! *arghhhh*

sleep sleep sleep...

Then I heard the struck of the lightning again.. And my windows vibrated at such a frequency which makes me think this might be the first time I may get to see a storm or tornado in Miri....

*kiddin*

Again I looked out the window.. She was there...

To my realization she was trying to get into the house.. But how?? There a grill door!

No, no girl.. Please get into your own house kayy??

Incidents after another

Apparently this is the first time I have spent my whole summer away from home and close to the four-walls-stress-loaded building. Many and I repeat many incidents happens throughout

S U M M E R .

Soon after all the students, well not all but most students left back to their hometown for the long awaited holidays inclusive with tonnes of celebrations. Robbers start hunting on their hunting ground.

OUR BELOVED DESA SENADIN!

These useless people but considered hardworking because they come out to hunt in the wee hours busted so many freaking doors and windows! And stole what was not theirs but properties of people whoms parents worked so hard earning it for.

Stop being silly stealing your own ticket to hell! And why do you want so many of them?

So you could go to hell over and over again?

or just to make sure you are IN ?

After that was the pouring rain and I mean literally waterfall! Well waterfall not everywhere but near the fuel station (SH*LL) and the hills. Water seems to be collecting and stagnant water on the soil was often the case.

What they did not know was, the soil could not hold the amount of water pouring from above! Well if you think the water falling down those rocks were cool and beautiful previously think again! Because one day if you decided to build your house on top of the hill, start worrying (or moving..... =S) when people compliment that you are so lucky to have beautiful waterfall at the foot of the hill where your house is! =P

People are naturally born to be '38' (ask a Chinese friend). Maybe you disagree with me but I stand strong on my point. Otherwise, there will not be any scientist, astrologist and all sorts. Only because you're '38' enough to uncover mysteries and solving problems, we get to own techies and fly across continents to be even more '38'! =PpPP

Back to the topic, sources from '38' people who took their nature as money-earning activity (job) helps even more the '38' community to update themselves regularly.

Sourced out was the tragic accident that happened on Valentine's Day to our friends from Curtin as well. Four involved but only three survived. Short story, the car hit the tree (don't assume it was a small car, it was not). Everyday I would drive pass that tree and say a little prayer for all the drivers out there.

When I wake up every morning, I know I have a choice to make.

Either I choose to be happy or sad. And this mood will bring me through the rest of the day.

Today, I chose to happy despite all the moodiness I had from the previous day~

I realised that I have changed in terms of my reaction towards anger. I cannot stay angry at a person for a long time. Within minutes of being angry and not talking to the other person, I felt that quiet and cold moment. It is this uneasy feeling that something its just not right. The mood level of the environment turns so cold and low. Hmmm.. Can't you guys light up the place with laughter and let me stay angry for just a little bit? =P~

My blood needs to boil up some day.

Rectification for myself that I am human and within the normality of life.

Today marks the end of the Chinese New Year celebration! But its not the end of happiness and all loud and merry celebration, its just the

The year of the Ox..

It began with numerous calamities, however many strongly believe that this year would be a good year..

The downs were probably just the tail-stories from 2008..

2008 was a disasterous year not only for myself but for many.

Despite "8" suppose to mark a lucky number to the Chinese, luck seems to have dissolve in the nature of year 2008.

Quick review of what happened in 2008,

the Olympics,

the disasterous earthquake in China,

dying and extinction of the Pandas,

the sick engineers who caused poor babies illness with the melamine-milk,

high fuel price that we all experience,

the heavy downpour of rain which caused many places to flood,

the BIG number of people who got retrenched,

the ECONOMIC recession

and the list goes on.....

Above it all, God was there...

Believing that all these should happen for a reason....

6th day of work..

Marks the worst day! Heard from yesterday, the regional manager of Miri was going to be

around..Better be early and make a good impression! To the horror, I saw the locks on the gate

that seemed so huge! What makes it huge it is because my CAR is LOCKED inside

there! How am I gonna teleport my car out from there? It’s 7.50 a.m. already!

Tried calling some people whom I thought could help me out BUT they switched OFF their

phones! Even him. Of all times! Felt so hopeless that I just wanna walk across the road

without looking… Time is ticking but who’s to care? ONLY ME!!!

The jam was freaking LONG ! And cars were damn SLOW ! Feel like ramming all the

cars or just stop the engine in the middle of the road and just SLEEP!

With that level of stress, it is gonna drive me insane one day! Now what is the use of

leaving a spare time of 45 minutes before departing to your work place when you meet with

BAD LUCK?

My answer is… NO USE!

My blog is certified dead. I know! Hehe! But I’m here to give it some pulse and hope it keeps running!

The semester has finally comes to its end. Results are out and new semester is beginning pretty soon!

The semester was pretty challenging. Speaking in terms of education and emotions. Assignments, projects and tests hits in like a never-ending flow. As soon as the finals leap off of my schedule, I had to plan a surprise birthday and also a farewell.

Oja’s birthday has always been my after final examination agenda. It was all good, hope she was surprised as the two guys who were leaving us, Jeffery and Michael. Will miss you guys tonnes!

On the 20^th June, I flew to Peninsular with Oguchi-chan! We had a great laugh in the airplane. You know if you have good company during the airplane journey, the journeying duration will feel shorter?

Oguchi and I were geared to our Peninsular Food Trip led by the most famous chipmunk..*ahermmmmm clears throat* Alvinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!

Hanged out in KL for the first few days, then we headed to Ipoh and then Penang. Penang was greattttttt… Will blog about this separately when I get the photographs from Oguchi-chan!

Overall, the trip was great! I got to meet people like Edric, Angie, Jmee, Robert, Kenin, Grace, Erina and Cheryl! Phewhhhh! Can have VCF celebration in Peninsular already! Hahaha! ^^ Not forgetting my two Ipoh friendssss, Tony and Jane! Thank you so much for meeting us up for lunchhh! And bringing me to the finest Ipoh Hor Fun stall! I won’t forget that! One more one more! Kekekeke!

We headed to Malacca as well. And had a compact one day food trip! From chicken rice balls, dim sums, cendol to ‘satay celup’! Never in history have I queued up for almost an hour for food! But it was all good cuz I was with a great bunch! And the bunch included Penguinnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! So happy to be able to meet him again! Thanks Alvin! ^^

The Bak Kut Teh from Klang did not go missing on my list! First time having both dry and wet Bak Kut Teh! Yummy! ^^ And having to meet Jason, Tracy and Wai Yen on my trip as well. This is a bonus! Hehe! ^^ Thanks dear!

Have not been blogging since my Christmas message! A lot has happened since then. Had a really nice and warm celebration with my family. Wrapping presents, decorating our home,

playing christmas songs and also preparing finger food for the Christmas Carolers! The carolers came to our home and sang a few songs. They were friends and friends from church whom we knew for quite some time. ^^ They did really good and my family and friends truly enjoyed it.
Wanted to capture photographs and a video of them but ...

dreadful dreadful dreaddddfulllllllll... the camera was out of battery when I clicked RECORD!

sadddd.. had to use some phone camera of my sister's friend to dub the audio.. Haven heard it yet but hope it is fine. Just for memories =)

Went to Midnight mass.... Wow the church is really flooding.. Had difficulty in finding seats. But Thank God we had a place even though the view was sort of blocked, still very thankful.

I've truly missed the time when me and my friends come out to town to sing carols and spread the good news of the birth of our Lord. Felt a little twitch in the heart that actually I should have joined them because I have the opportunity to come back early. But should not regret! Hehe!

Despite the happy'sssss, I had to go through some fears too.. Had to overcome some illness of my body.

Had a protocopy done and surgeon prescribed some medication for the healing and recovery.

PREPARING FOR SURGERY

To endure the pain during the operation is real suffering but I had no choice. The seconds of the aftermath of the surgery, I was shivering and in pain, felt like I loss a lot of blood. Errghhh.. Pale feeling. Had a pretty hard time, so most of the time stayed at home for speedy recovery.
Everything seems okay after that.. Was recovering and reallllll gladddd... ^^

Had the excitement to go for Empowered Weekend-Away everydayyyy.. But two days before the day came.. I felt my eyes burning of a real high degree in my body. Gave me a clue that I am getting a fever! Stucked a thermometer I got from the drawer and saw the measurement of my body temperature on the thermometer rising and rising!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! not nowww not nowwwwwwww!

Confirmed with a fever, I swallowed two pills of paracetamol and a pill of flu medicine and head straight to bed. I prayed that I would get well the next day. The next morning, my body felt so weak that I couldnt get up. I felt so cold and hide in my comforter. Had the air conditioner switched off and the fan.. Still I felt so cold.

=((

Swallowed more of those paracetamol. Hoping and praying to get well soon, I rested on the our living room couch the whole day. Fell asleep while watching tv, woke up when everyone was back and noticed that my eye got infected from the burning degrees of my body! Things are worseninggggggg! Help me God!

Mum and Dad asked me not to join the camp anymore because I am not gettin any better. That's so sadddddddddd! I want to go so badly! Stubbornly, I stated again that I will still be going to the camp. Determined that I will get well the next day, I slept earlier again after swallowing pills. The next day I woke up, excited about the camp, I packed my things but something stopped me. I felt the sudden pain in my throat when I tried to speak to someone at home. There is just no sound coming out ! I lost my voiceeeeeee! =(

Mum insisted that I had to see a doctor if I want to go for this camp. So I did. Had antibiotics prescribed for me, muco-slavans and eye infection drops. Took all this with me to the camp. Diligently I took these medication so I'd get well.

I didnt get well if you want to know. Had to came back earlier than camp schedule. My family came up all the way to Serian-Ranchan to pick me up and send me to the hospital. That was like 50km away from the Kuching itself. And it was like 1++ am when they arrived. Hmmm...

Still taking my medication till now.. Pray to get better as soon as possible! =(

Wrapping up my Second Year in Bachelor of Chemical Engineering’s First Semester in Curtin University of Technology Sarawak for the year 2007, it was not even close to a breeze of the wind. It was full of bumps, hills and even mountains to conquer. It was bitter-sweet time of my life.

It started of me pumped up gearing for the new semester of second year. Started off the semester pretty relaxed and smooth. Met up with a lot of new friends this semester and this bunch of people are so cool and not mentioning super nice? I’m glad to have spent the semester with these great bunch! It’s their first semester but it seems like they are so familiar with the places in Miri that you never would thought they were new students.

And the most important thing of all, THEY LOVE GOD ! ^^ Praise God!

Like always in the beginning of the semester VCF would be busy planning and preparing activities and planning the program for the movement of the whole semester. Getting schedule done so it wouldn’t be a distraction to our studies. Finding speakers and organizing teams for camps. We had a VCF Life Camp this semester! It was in Niah Cave. Yes… Again! But we went with a different bunch of people! So it was a whole different experience! However, it was to disappointment to some of the participants as we did not get to explore the caves due to some renovations of the pathways. Oh well, there is always next time right? ^^ No worries! The cave is not running away! The only possibility is the bats moving ‘house’ ! =P~

The ‘hard-to-forget’ or ‘always-remembered’ scene of the whole camp was the part when my team were presenting a skid in front of everyone during talent night. I had all the parts of the skid in the tiny brain of mine and so we rehearsed for a couple of times. However during the actual night….. Lance who was supposed to be King Saul had only one line in the skid as he was a bit too nervous or not to keen about skids. He was supposed to introduce himself to the crowd as King Saul. But he blew it!!!! Hahaha!

It was classic mannn.. I would never forget this skid ever!
The camp was soon over and studies continued like norm.

During the holidays, Robert agreed with me to see a doctor for his injured knee. It turns out that he needed to undergo a surgery as he had an ACL injury where his ligament was torn. We made an appointment with the doctor that the surgery to be performed after the Life Camp, which he claimed to be his last activity. We had a one week break for our midterm examinations. We took the opportunity to put the surgery appointment there so at least we are free from timetables.

On the morning of the surgery day, we got up early as Robert says he wants to have something before the operation. But generally we are not supposed to take in any food before a surgery, it’s a procedure. In the end we decided to rest a little while longer as the surgery was appointed at 8 a.m. The journey there was a bit upsetting for me as I recalled the time when my sister was in the hospital. I hate surgeries and anesthesia! I mean who likes it? T_T It’s scary!
I know football means a lot to Robert. I worry that he might not be able to play football anymore because the doctor did mention about the varying results of the surgery.
When he came out from the operation theatre, his face was so pale from the blood loss. Half conscious, I can see that he was in pain. It was a painful sight to watch.

Hmmm.. Let’s skip the whole hospital story.
Praise God that he is alright now! ^^

Lectures.. Tutorials.. Lectures.. Tutorials…Lectures.. Tutorials.. Lectures…Tutorials…

I totally don’t get anything from these two this whole semester. I mean I really really cannot catch up with the lessons. How am I to pass examinations? My friends were struggling too but they were alright and needed time of their own to save their studies. I really lost hope this semester and my heart says I would never make it this semester. I need to prepare myself to let everything go and accept failure. I need to have courage, stand up and learn from my past and failure. The pressure was too big to take that I broke down and lost myself. I threw my books away and led myself to tears and screams.

What have I been doing this whole semester?

Why didn’t I concentrate on my studies?

What was my focus?

What did I want that I neglected my studies?

Where is my self-discipline?

Why am I so useless and dependent?

Why am I like this?

Why?

I told myself… There is no time left. It takes a miracle to pass exams.

There is no time left. There is no time left… There is really no time left…
I cried myself to sleep almost every night. I tried to study but I ended up crying.
That point of my life, I felt lunatic. I felt like I was about to do something stupid.

It made me neglect God’s presence in my life. I felt like hope was gone.

What should I pray for now?

Everyone kept encouraging me to continue on. There is still hope. And that I should pray for guidance and courage. I am sorry to have neglected those words from the beginning.
At the end of the day when exam approached, I turned to God and asked for His guidance and care. I didn’t want to attend the examination. I didn’t even want to go to the exam hall. But I prayed that morning. And asked God to be there with me and help me do my best. To write whatever I can. If I were to fail, please Father give me strength to carry on and comfort me. I went through examinations without really going through my books. I depended on God fully and slept well all those four nights.

Exam soon ended and everyone was out from stress. For once in my life in Curtin, I couldn’t feel happy after exams. It felt so normal to me while everyone started jumping in joy. I felt really sad that I could not have those feelings because I did not work hard this semester. T_T I did not want to celebrate with my course mates because there was nothing worth celebrating for. That’s for me. Went straight home and slept.

Like a secret love letter or a diary, I kept my problem under the pillow for the time being. Honestly, I do not want to be lunatic nor do I want to lose my sanity. I do not want to live a life where it is empty and without joy. I know my problems cannot be hid forever under my pillow but let me prepare myself Abba Father to overcome this. I need all the courage I can get, all the strength and all the endurance. Hope is there because You are there.
I trusted God with all my heart in my exams and He blessed me.

Back home in Kuching d! Met up with Mamah, Ah Kong and Popo d ! Happy to see that they are healthy and fine at home. ^^ Met up with uncles and Beth too! Hmmm.. Have not been hunting for food in Kuching yet but have been eating a lot at home.

Missing Uno at the moment. Feels weird not listening to her bark in the mornings. And to hear the shops opposite open their doors in the early morning. It's only the second day and already missing the life in Miri. Miri is not so happening compared to Kuching. Maybe for Senadin la.. Kekeke! But I kinda like the slow life where nothing much is exciting.. Maybe I'm that bored of a person.

Kuching.. Home.. Have not met up with any friends yet. None! Zero to be exact! Where are you all? Hmmmm.. Some are off for holiday somewhere in the world, others went back to start their new semester already.. I cannot go out without a car too! T_T

Home home home.. With no internet! How sadddd! Where are the people who bought the houses next to us? Opposite us? And everywhere near us. Faster move innnnn. So we can get the line fixedddd pleaseeee? T_T Dying already...

Oh well..

I am so happy that before I left Miri I've received an early Christmas gift ! Yay!! ^^

Holiday has begun. Seems like it's getting boring by the second. But the sleep is real good! ^^ Like a pig you can sleep without even have to bother what is happening in the world. Everyone left to their respective hometowns d. Senadin is surely a quiet place since then.

It should be a normal thing to go through since they first started operating their shops at an area where shops are open to provide the necessities to students in the University. =P~

Have not been writing in my blog for like ages..
And I know its kinda disappointing to some of my friends..
Like as if my blog is actually dying and soon-to-be not visited and unlinked.
This is going to be a short post too as its like 3am now! Goin to hit the sack in a few minutes.
Semester has ended. Shortened the story it was not a good one. But aint going to talk about that for now. Maybe in another post.

Just browsed through some photographs taken on Grandma's birthday which I did not attend. Grandpa had this picture which was so cute. With his hands waving 'HI'. To be honest I actually miss this two grandparents of mine. When I was a kid, I used to stay in their room watch tv and eat biscuits which granny prepared. Now all this moments are just deeply missed. I'm no longer a kid anymore and my grandparents are growing very much older. =(

I came upon this picture of my granduncle the sixth. He was with his famous smile with his long long white beard! Wise old man from China! Hehe! He writes books and is great in Chinese literature. Admire him a lot and feel so low when with him because I'm a Chinese too but I cannot do the same!

But that was not what that really strike me. I felt a sudden sadness in my heart. Granduncle has just lost the one he most loved in his life. He lost his angel, his partner, his other half and the mother of his children. I cannot imagine how hurting that feels. The other half of you just ripped and taken away from you forever. I cannot help but tear when it comes to situations where you lose a dear one. I remember when I was half way through my books and got a message from Mama that my grandaunt just passed away. I could not believe it. I knew she was sick but I thought she should be getting better with the treatment she was getting from the hospital. Seems like I was wrong. Now I'm never going to see her again!

MANDY’s Curtin University Engineering Foundation Year 2007

I thank God for every second of my life and admit my failures for every milliseconds of it. The semester for me was bittersweet. It begun with two weddings! Karen and Byron’s and Lee Fah and Matthew! The weddings twas so beautiful. Well, of course it was! It was heaven on earth for these two wonderful couples. ^^ Everyone was so happy and touched by the love life that they shared. Now I’m hurrying myself to get a boyfriend! Haha! Just kidding!`

To cut everything really really short now… I know that this semester I have been joining more activities than spending time on books. And it showed in my results I have this semester. But again..

It may not fully satisfy me but it was my own choice and fault. And this consequences I have to bare it myself. Again Praise God for the wonderful semester!

After having not seen my friends for a long time, we decided to head out at night to have dinner. Anyone who could make it can just come along. Was suppose to have dinner at Room205 at Padungan. Had a great lunch today at Jambu’s with Jo, Sam and Toh Soon. Twas Jo’s treat before he leaves to Penang.. Huhuhu! =( Twas also my first visit to Jambu’s! Jambu’s a great place to sit down and have a decent meal and chats along the way. I like especially the pink room and the bar like blue room! It’s so niceeeeeeeeee! ^^. Didn’t had the chance to take the pictures down tho. So I guess you’ll have to see it when you visit the place yourself then! Tee hees! We went around the place, there was this small bar and a cozy place where you could sit and drink. It very much caught my sight! It’s like your very own bar at the back of your house! Jo added that there will be chalets built at the available empty land space soon for international tourists to make their stay here. Nice!

Anyways, back to our main course. I had myself a .. Oh my forgotten the name! **** Quarter Roast Chicken. It was good but a lil too big portion for mii! *sigh* Jo had CCC! He made sure I remembered the name! Lolx ! It’s Chili Corn Carne. =P~ It’s yummmyyy.. Baked potatoes with minced meat meat! *slurps* Sam had Lamb Cutlets Duo! The name was so cool but portion to Sam’s disappointment while Soon had Fish and Chips. We had juices and milkshakes to ensure our well eating as well as the starters and side dishes like de Wild Mushroom Soup, Spiced Eggplant, and Spanish Omelet.

To finish it off, we had a toast with Red Wine. As Jo claims, the toast was for him. “ To Me”, he says. Lolxx! Lunch was really good! Thanks Jo! Gonna miss you lots ! *huhuhu* =(

We then headed to Sam’s place, watched Breach interesting but yet slow. But it was alright. Soon came to pick us then we headed off to send Jess at the airport. She was going to Penang for studies at USM. All the best Jesssss! Not to worry, cuz you’ll have Jo and Joyce there that you could count on. Heh heh heh! To me its very good newsss… ^^ .

Tired after preparing dinner. Weird feeling. Not a very good sign. Neways, cheerios friends! ^^

Life is truly colourful.. But it's your choice to lead in which.. You can buy a packet of balloons of the same colour, like those GOLD ones or SILVER ones or you can choose to buy one with multi colours.. And in reality, these colourful ones are much easier to find than the Gold or Silver ones..

I understand my weakness and acknowledge my faults in life..I know I am not able to please everyone in every way I am now..In every 10 I meet, there would always be 1 that probably I could only please.

But just live life happily! and SMILE even when things go wrong!
Had only one friend that I could seek for when I'm in need of someone to share a little span of my life with.. She has an uncountable amount of friends, so I had only few hours with herevery week. And this girl is my best friend for life. Love every single bit of her!

1 2 3 Days in Miri

Kept this in my laptop since the first day I arrived in Miri after my long holidays of three months.. Haven't got my internet installed yet in the new house here. So suffering. Thought I should post it up in school before this post stinks!

Day One in Miri

Arrived in Miri safely, despite the weird feeling I had in the planeand the full human-loaded plane. It was a squeezy feeling as I was sitting in between two other passengers, one a uncomrfortably looking big guy and also another prettylady in white. My hands were tire out because of the heavy hand-luggageI brought. A bag full of books !*aikSs!* and a heavy laptop with a few other items in there (hdd,phone,mp3 player,wallet,baby camcam,microphone,earphones) Needa get those books over, if not it would never be read! Gee! I seldom ..erm can say never successfully read a book at home. Maybe 'some'.

When I was a kid, Enid Blyton or R.L Stine never failed to keep me awake at nights finishing them.probably. =P~
On the way up the plane, the heavy bag was a torture I wishedI had the strength of a man. I wished I had a friend, a man. I wished the bag would be lighter. I wished someone could help me. I hear my arm musclesscreaming out of torture.=( On the flight up the AirAsia stairs was the mostterrible moments! Prayed that it would soon be over if not I'll end up getting over the top of my head till the ends of my feet and fall backwards.Again on the plane,getting my bag on top of overhad compartment was disasterous! I can't!wanted to cry already cause my whole arms were trembling. Need some helphere ! *sobs* Before I broke down to tears of how useless I am, I asked for assistance frm the air-stewardess who stood by me watchingme! She cannot see I had problems getting the bag on top! *sigh*Enough said.

I had a book with me ' The Keeper' by Sarah Langan read itfrom the moment the plane departed till it arrived. ^^ So the journeydidnt felt as long as the strings of 'long-life noodles'. =P~*sigh* Have to get my bag down now, I was blessed by God's embrace!The guy next to me could see how short I am! And how vulnerable!He asked me if he could help me.. So nice! Thank you, guy! =)Still I wished I had your strength! Ha ha! Fredda was outside waiting forme as I got hold of my check-in luggage. Jody and Angeline at the car waiting for us. Thanks girls for the welcoming back to Miri from the airport!

Arrived in the hall of the church, saw everyone practicing in their own instruments! Watched helplessly because I couldn't play any of them,I cannot sing as well. *sighhh* Despite the dissappointment I hadfor myself of not polishing any musical talent, I put on a smile for everyone. Went home straight and unpacked.

Robert and Oja wantedto watch a movie together in my room. Initially we watched'Children of Men' but it was soooooo boring and slow. Lazy to listen.Fredda joined in. Everyone was almost half asleep, a quarter not listening at all! The other 3 quarters I have no idea? =P~We changed the movie to ' Night In The Museum ' which Robert, Fredda and I myself have already watched.Fredda was fast asleep! And I was feeling groggy already! Fell asleep and awoken several times!Anyway, that's the end of day one in Miri. I wrote a short journal!Oh my! *sigh*
The aftermath of carrying heavy-loaded bags without much fitness and exercise of the body, a painful sore arm screaming *ouchhhhhhhh* !

2nd day in Miri

2nd day in Miri passed so quickly. Doing nothing but washing and hanging out at home and to the church watching friends play the musical instruments again. *sigh* Went to get a RM 2.99 doormat for myself! *teehees*My arm still hurts as much. We had a small gathering at Uncle David'sthat night. 10 of us departed from Senadin to his house. Had a quick introduction and some Chinese New Year tit-bits and then we kicked offwith the food on the table. * We thank God for the food on the table,and we ask You to bless them and bless the people who had the food prepared. We ask You to nourish our body as we eat to be rich in health to praise You. Amen! * Lolx ! I guess everyone forgotten about that(prayer),cause we were too hungry. Hmm..

Chit chats, brief games and sing along.The night felt really long to me, cause I didn't feel too well.Felt like something was eating me from the inside. It hurt so badly,I could hardly sing. Had breathing complications. When I breath in theair, my stomach would hurt even more. End up sitting on the stairs,concentrating on the pain and thinking of how to reduce it.Ended up, it worsen. Hurts till I cried. I had gastric.I'm so sorry to everyone I cannot join in. Not like I don't want to.I felt sorry to Hwei Ching, Oja and Gloria also. Had to 'jaga' this troublesome girl. *sigh* You girls should have just go and have fun cause I'll be alright soon.. I hope!..Took a gastric pill whichdidn't help much at the moment. The night at Uncle David'sended, for me it was a painful one but still it was great.. Thanks for Unc David and family! Robert had to drive us home,cuz I was still in pain. Thanks Robert! Went straight to bed when I got home. It was only 10.45 pm!

The problem here is not that nobody knows what it stands for.. but what is actually meant!

meaning "please respond".

If you happen to bump into an invitation with R.S.V.P. written on it, the host is trying to tell you that you must tell the him/her whether or not you plan to attend the party. It also does not mean to respond only if you're coming or neither if you're not coming. An addition of a note "Regrets Only" then, would mean to reply only if you're not coming.
Every host needs to do a head count to make sure that everyone has a seat and plentiful of food to eat and let not food go to waste.

Notebook's acting strange..Doesn't switch on successfully..Unplugged it while system was running cuz the screen KO-ed..

Handphone's messaging system and graphic system is crumbling down..
Lost all my messages and folders in just one second of time! Photos keep corrupting as time ticks by..

Camera.. Baby Cam Cam is not feeling well.. Often complained by others baby produces unclear pictures.. pictures that look grainy.. When baby cam cam was held by others.. photo preview was not successful..card error or unreadable file were encountered..
2 weeks old baby is so ill!

Went to see miniature show house today with family.. Well.. Don't have much to comment.. Many people are buying new houses.. We were just there to have a look .. Expensive thing..but I like the lifestyle concepts a lot.. Quite interesting.. ! ^^

Rushed back home to get ready to go Chinese New Year visiting with YCS friends.. Had breakfast at Alexis's.. Well, he's changed. To a even more quite person.. Hmmff.. Prolly just woke up..
Neways. cut short.. Went to Yueh Lee's house .. Super huge.. Nice and friendly parents ! Esp the mum ! Cool ! Liked his 'wormy' carpet.. so cute! altho all the fur got stuck to my giraffe 'apron'!

We decided to give a visit to Jo and Sam.. YCS friends Alvin and Marissa went back first cuz they were tired already.. It was a hot sunny day.. And unfortunately Audrey's car air condition broke down. Steaming oven in there ! *heh heh* Sorry Audrey..! No offense de yar.. Not yr fault at all!
3 months of holidays being indoor most of the time.. Now gettin tanned / burnt by the hot flaming sun.. aaahh. ! never have I dreamt of havin that experience ! Hurts..! =(

Sleep More, Weigh Less: The Link Between Sleep and Weight Loss

Everyday my parents would tell me to get up early and sleep earlier in the nights because I usually cannot wake up till I'm fully satisfied with the comfort I get from my bed and sleeps late because of the internet and games! (erm.. for example now.. kekeke! )

Friends who call me in the morning would usually get an annoying and frustrating unanswered dialtone! Sorry friends! Its right to blame me and my sleeping habits! Even if I answered the call too, I would be so drowsy to even speak clearly and logically to them.. And they would be like

' Did you just get up from bed? It's three in the afternoon already, do you know that? '

Can't help it ! Especially during my long holidays of three months now ! Absoluteeelyyy adoreee sleeeeeepinggggg... ! Thanks to piggie year .. I have more of the reason to sleep even more..kekeke!

BUT !!

During these holidays I've been sleeping at odd hours.. Erm sleeping in the early mornings.. Gettin to see the sun rise every day !

If you've been skipping out on snooze time to log more hours at the gym, you could be missing out on the easiest weight loss strategy ever -- sleep. Here's how changing your sleep habits can help you lose weight.
When Losing Sleep Leads to Gaining Weight

"There are over two dozen studies that suggest that people who sleep less tend to weigh more," says Sanjay Patel, MD, assistant professor of medicine at Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, Ohio. One such study, published in the Archives of Internal Medicine,examined approximately 1,000 people, and found a link between weight and time spent in bed. On average, people who were overweight slept 16 minutes less per day than normal weight people -- a small, but significant difference. Recent research led by Patel followed 68,183 women, all part of the Nurses' Health Study, for 16 years. The results: Those who slept 5 hours or less a night were nearly a third more likely to gain 30 pounds or more than women who slept 7 hours per night.

There are several different ways losing sleep can thwart your weight loss efforts. Research from the University of Chicago suggests that sleep deprivation may lead to a change in how our bodies regulate appetite, leading us to crave more food. "You may start not only eating more, but eating unhealthy foods -- those high in fat and carbohydrates," says Patel. "Another possibility is that because people who are sleep-deprived feel more fatigued, they exercise less. Sleep deprivation can also change your basal metabolic rate, slowing down how many calories you burn just doing basic life-sustaining activities, like breathing and maintaining body temperature."

Sleep and weight loss: 12 Sleep Secrets That Can Help You Lose Weight

Don't skimp on hours. Most people need 7 or 8 hours of sleep per night, but the best way to tell if you're getting enough sleep is to see how you feel during the day, says Patel. Are you tired or sleepy in the afternoon or evening? And in the morning, are you ready to go, or does your body crave another hour in bed? Constant napping is a clear sign of sleep deprivation, he says. Once you've determined the hours you need, make sleep a priority by counting back from the time you get up in the morning to find out when to hit the sack, says Gerard T. Lombardo, MD, director of the Sleep Center at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, and co-author of Sleep to Save Your Life: The Complete Guide to Living Longer and Healthier Through Restorative Sleep.

Explore medical causes. The most common reason people feel sleepy is that they’re not getting enough sleep, Patel tells WebMD, but there could be a medical cause as well. There are over 75 different disorders that can disrupt sleep, says Lawrence J. Epstein, MD, instructor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, regional medical director for the Harvard-affiliated Sleep HealthCenters, and co-author of The Harvard Medical School Guide to a Good Night's Sleep. The most common disorders are sleep apnea, a sleep and breathing problem; restless legs syndrome, where pain and discomfort disrupt sleep; and insomnia, which can include trouble getting to sleep initially, as well as waking up and having trouble getting back to sleep. Other potential sleep-disrupters include chronic pain from conditions like arthritis, and disorders that make it hard to breathe lying down, such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and heart failure. Talk to your physician if you suspect your fatigue has a medical cause.

Improve your sleep environment. It's not just the quantity of sleep that counts; it's also the quality, says Lombardo, so make your sleep environment a sanctuary. Block light with thick curtains or blackout shades, and muffle noise with ear plugs or a white noise machine. If seeing your alarm clock makes you stressed, turn it around or cover it up before you go to bed. If you're often awakened by late night phone calls, turn off your ringer or disconnect the phone.

Reserve the bedroom for bedtime. The demands of modern life make it easy -- even essential -- to multitask, with the result that many people do everything in bed except sleep. Resist the temptation to bring your laptop or cell phone into bed to check the internet or send text messages. Reserving your bedroom for sleep and sex will help your body associate the room with relaxation and release, as opposed to work or entertainment, Epstein tells WebMD.

Nurture close connections. Lonely days may lead to restless nights, University of Chicago researchers report. In a study of 89 students and 25 older adults, researchers found that, although lonely and non-lonely subjects spent about the same amount of time in bed, those who reported being lonely slept 5.8 hours on average, while non-lonely subjects slept 6.4 hours. A more recent study by the same authors found that lonely people slept less efficiently and spent more time lying awake in bed. If you are lonely, take steps to establish closer ties with family members, engage in activities that help you make new friends, or consider getting a pet.

Nix the nightcap. Alcohol is the No. 1 aid people use to help them fall asleep, Lombardo tells WebMD. And it works -- but only for half the night. As your body metabolizes the alcohol (at a rate of half a pint of beer or a glass of wine per hour), its sleep-inducing powers wear off. At that point, you'll be awakened -- often with a full bladder. Drinking too close to bedtime can also make sleep problems (like sleep apnea, snoring, and insomnia) and stomach problems (like acid reflux and GERD) worse, he says. And it won't help your weight loss efforts to consume extra calories right before going to sleep.

Get moving. Exercising for weight loss can have a double benefit -- it may help you sleep better too. In a Duke University study, researchers found that physically fit older men fell asleep in less than half the time it took sedentary men. They also woke up less often during the night and slept more efficiently -- that is, they spent more of their snooze time in deep, restorative sleep. One caveat: Exercising too close to bedtime can make it hard for you to nod off because it’s a stimulating activity, Epstein says.

Hold the caffeine. A morning cup of joe? No problem. But you may want to avoid the stuff before you hit the sack. Caffeine is a stimulant, temporarily increasing adrenaline production and blocking sleep-inducing chemicals in the brain. For the average non-smoking adult, caffeine's effects last about 5 to 7 hours, says Hyla Cass, MD, assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at UCLA School of Medicine, and author of 8 Weeks to Vibrant Health: A Woman's Take-Charge Program to Correct Imbalances, Reclaim Energy, and Restore Well-Being, so if you have trouble snoozing, skip the late-afternoon or evening brew. Smokers and children both metabolize caffeine more quickly, she says, but be extra alert if you're pregnant or on the pill -- women on the pill take up to 13 hours to metabolize caffeine, while pregnant women can take up to 18 to 20 hours! And don’t be fooled into thinking that coffee is the only culprit. Chocolate, tea, soda, and some painkillers and cough medications can contain enough caffeine to keep you up at night as well.

Disconnect. A Belgian study found that subjects who spent more time watching TV, playing computer games, and using the internet got less sleep and felt more fatigued. The advent of cable TV and the Internet made it hard to find time to sleep, says Patel. Now there are other things to do at midnight and 1 a.m. To counteract this effect, get into the habit of tuning out at the same time every night, saving the last half hour before bed for relaxing activities like light reading, stretching, or writing in a journal.

Keep your cool. For the best sleep possible, the National Sleep Foundation recommends a slightly cool room -- it matches the temperature drop that occurs inside our bodies while we sleep. You may want to experiment, though, as the optimal temperature varies from person to person, Epstein says.

Clear the decks. If stress or worry keeps your mind racing when you should be relaxing, take a sheet of paper and write down your thoughts, Epstein says. You'll be better able to deal with your problems after your mind and body have had time to rest. “Try to develop a pre-sleep routine that marks bedtime as the end of the day,” he says -- a warm bath, for example, or a relaxing stretching or meditation session.

Stay serene. If time is ticking and you're still awake, keep calm and relocate to another room. Lying in bed fretting about being awake will make your bedroom a stressful place, Epstein says. Do something relaxing like reading or listening to quiet music. (Whatever you do, don't turn on the computer!) Before you know it, you'll be stumbling back to bed, and slipping off to sleep -- bringing you one step closer to your weight loss goal.
